Hi fellow artists!
Today I want to share with you how I solved Case 210 over at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration. It’s a gorgeous palette – all spring, bright and ice-creamy!
Even though Spring has officially sprung here in South Africa, the weather is still a little nippy. Not QUITE warm enough to break out the sandals and pretty dresses!
Here is how I solved this case:
Scheme : all there
Evidence : vertical stripes, circles, triangles, mosaic
Testimony : move
When it’s particularly nippy outside, my two cats duke it out between themselves to find the cosiest spot to sleep. My beautiful Pirate cat has recently discovered that she can hide herself quite snugly underneath the tuck of my duvet cover. I found her in this spot very early one morning, and she didn’t move from said spot the entire day. I’d forgotten all about her hiding out there, that when I threw my handbag down on my bed, it practically landed right on top of her.
Suffice it to say, she was NOT a happy kitty, but the very next day, she was right back in the same spot. And again a few days later and I again forgot to check when I pulled my duvet back to snuggle down myself. Poor thing. She’s not been back to the same spot, so I think I might have ruined it for her!
Here are some additional close up images of my layout.
My final blog post (and how pleased I am to have caught up!!).
Fabscraps really has such a beautiful selection of products and I really do just love working with them so very much. Their paper has so many beautiful elements on them – it’s a fussy cutters dream working with them. So much so that you really don’t need too many additional embellishments to make your piece wonderful!
I was very pleased and excited when a canvas I made for them recently made it to their blog – you can read up on the tutorial here.
Here are just a few more of my own pics. This canvas will be cherished by me always – and hopefully one day by my daughter too. Thanks Fabscraps for giving me free rein to create something like this.
Let’s Scrap have a great sketch up for the next fortnight – it allows you the opportunity to use many photographs with a flap ‘hiding’ away some more!
I must admit that I rarely use flaps on my LO’s – goodness knows why! – so it was fun to finally get to doing it!
Here is the sketch by our fabulous Michelle!
Here is what I did with the sketch:
Feeling Sketchy have a really lovely sketch up for the next fortnight! You can do any project of your choosing – please just stick to the sketch!
I made a birthday card, based on friendship:
Next up, is CSI Case File number 209 – and I have to admit that I particularly enjoyed working with these colours!
Here is my piece:
Scheme : all there
Evidence : stripes, polka dots, tone on tone, nautical elements
Testimony : Three Word Wednesday prompt – amusing and quirky
Oumie bought you these two wigs and when I presented them to you when you got home from school, you were completely delighted. What followed was a series of fashion shows, funny mirror faces and… bum wiggles (why, I don’t know!).
Of course, you insisted that mommy try them on too and then “take our picture for Facebook, mommy”!
P.S. I think being a red head suits you, my little Aerial!!!
Here are some close ups.
I am hideously behind in blogging all my recent projects and for that I hang my head in shame. So today, you will be bombarded with FIVE separate posts as I wade my way through my blogging admin!
First up, is Major Case File 208 over at CSI. It’s a lovely soft palette and includes a gorgeous sketch by Em.
Here is how I played along and solved the case:
Scheme : all there
Evidence : chevrons, travel accents, filmstrip
Testimony : document a trip
A few weeks ago, Ummie and Uppie invited us along with them to take a drive in their camper. It was my very first time in the Camper, but you had been several times before. The only reason I’ve not been is because I’m not terribly fond of confined spaces.
We drove as far as out of Ceres and found a spot to hop out, have a snack and explore. It was utterly freezing, but we had a great time looking around. We ended up coming home with a huge pile of pine cones and some small flowers too.
We had all hoped that we would at least find some snow to play in, but sadly we didn’t. There was, however, great amounts of it high on top of the mountains that surrounded us. Pity we couldn’t get there, as mommy dearly would love to see your reaction to snow (and throw a snowball at you!).
What a wonderful morning it was for all of us – and a great way to travel too!
Here are some clos up shots of my piece.
Feeling Sketchy have a great new sketch up! Remember – you don’t have to make a card – you can choose any project your heart desires, just so long as it does resemble the sketch for the challenge!
Here is this fortnights’ sketch:
And here is the card I made!
We’d LOVE for you to play along with us!!!
Hello my artist friends!
Today I’ll be posting two of my most recent projects.
First up, is the double page LO I did for Let’s Scrap. Another amazing sketch – and just look at all the options you have to showcase your photographs! Love this one!
And this is what I did with this sketch:
These are just a tiny handful of the (900-odd!) photographs I took at Isabella’s recent Tinkerbell & Pirates birthday party.
I coloured and highlighted this butterfly in with regular pencil and then gave it a thick coat of Glossy Accents.
Such a fun sketch to work with! Why don’t you head on over to Let’s Scrap and play along with us? There are some lovely prizes up for grabs!
