All Of Me Loves All Of You

Hi there!

It’s a bright sunshiney Monday here in Cape Town today; perfect weather to share my bright shiny mixed media canvas for the latest challenge over at 13arts.  This is the first time I’ve taken part in one of their challenges – and that’s only because for this one,  you don’t need to use their products (which I cannot readily get my grubby paws on here in South Africa!!).

Unfortunately I’ve only just noticed that the challenge has closed (AAARGH!!), but I’ll share it with you anyway…  That’s what happens when you procrastinate over a piece for too long, I guess!!  Ugh!  I could kick myself!!!

Wanderlust | Ivytree Studio

Last, but by no means LEAST – another post for Ivytree Studio – this time a Mixed Media canvas (8×8 inches).

I honestly don’t know why I don’t do more Mixed Media layouts – I really enjoy them so much! Today I want to share a canvas I did for Ivytree Studio , using their amazingly beautiful (including HAND PAINTED ELEMENTS!!) Wild & Free Range.  To say that I’m besotted with every single page in this collection would be an understatement of epic proportions!

Remember that I have included a list of the papers I used below all the images; and also, there are links to the Ivytree Studio Facebook page – amongst others – where you have the opportunity to hook up with fellow Ivytree Studio fans and to share the pieces you have created!

Always Wear Your Invisible Crown

It has been quite an admin intensive morning in my neck of the woods – made worse by the fact that my computer is, for reasons unknown, very veeerrryyyyyy slow!

Anyway!  Last week I stumbled on yet another challenge site called Mixed Media & Art; and while browsing through all the incredible works of art, it dawned on me that I really just DON’T do enough mixed media artwork.

I decided then and there to take part in their February Challenge

I adore these colours, images and the sketch is divine; I specifically took inspiration from the flowers and the gold ‘accents’ throughout the image above!  Here is what I threw together over the last few days!

My second post for today is a single page layout I made, also exclusively using the Hadeda range from Ivytree Studio.

This is a photograph of my brothers and I, taken seven or more years ago, when we went on a family trip.

These papers are so lovely – instead of doing my usual stencilling background, I wanted the beauty of the papers to speak for themselves!

Do remember to scroll down for the list of the papers that I used; as well as where you can hook up with us via Facebook and share the beautiful artwork you’ve created using Ivytree Studio products!

This Was Totally Amazing | Ivytree Studio

Hi there, my fellow scrapping enthusiasts!

Today I am going to share a double page layout I did for Ivytree Studio, using their gorgeous Hadeda Collection.

This one has a family theme; we had a professional photo shoot on Isabella’s first birthday.  It was a gloomy day, but I always say that photo’s taken in overcast weather have such a lovely ‘light’ about them.

I wanted to create a contrast between the dark navy and the soft marshmallowy pink that this range offers; so below are images of what I put together.

I know that you are going to fall head over heels in love with this paper – so don’t forget to scroll down for the list of the papers that I used (so you know what to buy online); as well as where you can hook up with us via Facebook and share with us, the lovely work that you have created using Ivytree Studio’s amazing range of products!  I can’t wait to see what you did!

161/24 – Geometric Stripes Texture

161/33 – Dark Navy

161/38 – Pale Pink

Little Mermaid | CSI DT

Hi again!

I’m back this afternoon to share with you the latest case file up for investigation over at CSI: Color, Stories Inspiration.  It’s preeetttyyyyy yummy, this one!

And this is how I solved this case:

lisamarie224uf_edited-1

Scheme : all there

Evidence : plain cardstock, arrows, die cuts

Testimony : use an item in the scene – mermaid!

We took part in a sandcastle competition late last year while at Pearly Beach.  We started off by building a replica of Table Mountain (one of Cape Town’s most DELICIOUS natural tourist attractions), but the wind was just not on our side; so we ended up pulling an idea out of our hats and sat you down so that we could turn  you into a mermaid.

You were AMAZINGLY patient – and most definitely set a personal record for The Longest Time Sitting Completely Still.

Although you didn’t win first prize, you drew a lot of attention and really, you were a sure winner to us!

Here are some close ups!

Loving These Moments

Hi there,

I’m hideously busy today – so I’m nipping in real quick to share another family inspired piece I made for the Scrap Affairs competition. This one is a fairly recent pic of my cousins and I.  We literally grew up together and had more laughs than I can count!  Leanne turned 40 last week – I can’t believe how time has flown…

Anyway.  Here is the piece I created:
