The upcoming Scrap Affairs magazine will be having a travel theme and everyone has been invited to submit their layouts for the possibility of appearing in the mag. Here are three which I worked on yesterday and have subsequently sent on:
Right now I’m heading straight back to my art room to work with a glorious range from Fabscraps!
My second project was a single page layout I did for the current challenge over at White..with 1. The direct link is here .
This was their colour palette and their sketch; as you can see, I flipped the sketch onto its side.
Next up, is my take on the October challenge over at Scrap The Girls – here is the direct link.
I have to say, I LOVED working with this palette! It is so incredibly vibrant!
Thanks for heading over to my blog – and leaving comments! I do so love hearing from you!
Today I want to share with you, a project I made for the October challenge over at More Than Words – the link up to this challenge is below.
For this challenge, you need to use fabric, as well as tell how you were inspired by the word ‘delicate’.
Well, first of all – in terms of fabric. My sister-in-law is an interior designer and a few months back, she ‘gifted’ me a pile of fabric sample catalogues (and I DO mean a pile!). I decided to cover my canvas base with a piece of delicate fabric from one of the catalogues and also use some more under my photograph. The little white lace flowers that you see in this piece are cut from a strip of lace from my wedding dress (circa February 1999!); I always knew I’d find a great use for it SOME day! I’m so glad it’s for this piece!
When I hear the word delicate, the first image that springs to my mind is that of a butterfly. I love to sit in my garden and see how they literally waft from flower to flower. I decided to incorporate butterflies in this piece; and to turn my daughter, Isabella, into a butterfly too! So I cut a butterfly chippie in half and adhered it behind her shoulders.
I hope you like what I’ve done!

I have to say that I absolutely LOVED working on the latest case over at CSI. The colour palette is delicious – from deep black and red, to ice-cream pastel pink and blue!
Here is what I put together, using the inspiration from CSI:
Scheme : all there
Evidence : polka dots, hearts, flowers, texture paste, stamps
Testimony : document a celebration
I LOVE a dress up party. I will always, always go to the greatest of efforts to dress up. My brother had a Rock-type party theme earlier this year for his birthday; and my partner and I decided to go as Disco King and Queen. We both donned matching purple outfits (his was at least 4 sizes too small) and funky wigs. It was a great evening with even greater people. I LOVE that my partner goes to as much of an effort as I do, regardless of the outfit or how embarrassing it might be. I LOVE that we can this much fun together. There are many celebrations like this where we have dressed up – and I am CERTAIN that there will be many more to come!
We would absolutely LOVE it if you popped in to play along with us! This is what the Case File looks like:
Seriously though… what’s NOT to love???
This next LO was done for Case File 239 over at CSI – as with all our beginning of the month challenges, this one includes a sketch by The Nifty Pixel, designed exclusively for CSI. Scroll down for more details on how you can play along with us!
And here is what I did:
Scheme : all there
Evidence : flowers / leaves, wood (paper print), circles
Testimony : song title / lyrics as inspiration
She drives me CAH-RAZY! And not in a bad way! Always up to something. Always a funny little quip. Always photo bombing in the worst kind of way – or pulling ridiculous faces for selfies. She drives me crazy, and I can’t help myself (laughing!!). She brings SO much light into my life!
We would LOVE to have you play along! Here is the direct link to this challenge and this is what it looks like:
Today I am sharing an art journal page I created for the October challenge over at Mix It Up Challenge blog. For this month, the theme is Anything Goes + Watercolour.
I decided to haul out my all-time favourite Distress Oxides to create an under-water page, featuring mermaids, sea horses, starfish and adorable fishes.
I stamped all my designs onto some watercolour paper – alternating between stamping and clear embossing; and stamping using the Distress Oxides. Those which were stamped and embossed, I then brushed through some distress oxide watered down with my water mister.
Here is my art journal piece:
I’m a few days behind some blog posts – I’ve had a shitty few weeks! That’s all I can say about that!
I recently applied to be on the Off The Rails Scrapbooking design team – when I received the email to say that I’ve been accepted, I literally cried and jumped up and down simultaneously!!! I’m excited BEYOND!
And here is my very first piece of work I did for them. It’s a little canvas, based on the October Mood Board. Scroll down for details of and link to the challenge – we would LOVE to have you play along with us!
I really enjoyed working on this canvas. I also found it amazing that, considering the “Wolf” aspect of my life, my first challenge involved wolves!
You can head over to the Off The Rails Scrapbooking page – here is the direct link to the challenge. And the gorgeous mood board looks like this:
