Happiness is Homemade

So for my next post, I want to share with you the layout I created for the latest challenge over at Challenge Yourself.

I have to say that I really just loved the inspiration photograph.  It made me think of warm sunny days, butterflies and the smell of earth.  Beautiful image, really.  Here is what the challenge looks like:

Aside from the colour scheme of the image, I also took inspiration from the soft feel of it.  I smooshed by background with the three colours in the image – blue, green and straw-yellow – and I did it in such a way as to recreate how the colours were laid out in the photograph.  As embellishments, I fussy cut some tiny white flowers and I also used some foliage just to echo those that appear in the photograph.
