Perfect Moments | CSI DT

You have until the 31st of May to play along with this beautiful challenge that CSI: Color Stories Inspiration is running right now.

You’d be crazy not to play along with us, as there is a delicious array of prizes up for grabs!

Here is what I did with this challenge:

I used a solid background and took inspiration from the stripes and flowers on the inspiration image.  I also added some gold elements to lift the page.  The inspiration for my journaling came from Sunday Scribblings – No 382: Path.  Hence the quote across my photograph: Family is our link to the past and a bridge to the future.

Obviously, how I was raised has a lot to do with how I turned out; that goes without saying. Each of my parents have provided me with their own unique traits to create my own views and tools on how to deal with what life throws my way.  I want to focus on my daddy, as he has left us now and I have reflected at length at how he has contributed into making me the person I am; traits that I hope to pass on to Isabella one day – in that small way, a part of my daddy’s legacy lives on.  Daddy taught me so much about the nitty-gritty aspect of life; I’m talking particularly about how things work.  Cars, light bulbs, plugs etc.  Daddy spent much of his time tinkering on cars or if an appliance broke – he was there fixing it.  Without a shadow of a doubt, I am certain that I inherited from him that need to know how things work.  Were it not for this, I would not be able to change a tyre, change a plug, know which light bulb to buy or know the actual names of tools.  I can’t wait to pass this legacy on to Isabella.  Just because you’re a girl, doesn’t mean you don’t need to know about these things!  Daddy has certainly helped shape me into the fiercely independent person I am today!

Here are some close ups of my layout.

  1. What a lovely page,Lisa-Marie, loving all the gorgeous layering and that really is a great quote :o)

  2. Yet another beautiful layout, Lisa-Marie. I love how you always add a soft masking effect to your backgrounds. It’s subtle and so pretty. You are the queen of layering papers and embellishments behind your photo(s). I also love how you draw a black outline on them. It’s a little detail that makes a big difference. Great job! TFS.
