Forever In My Heart

My heart is sad and bereft this week as I lost one of my best friends – at the hands of another.  My dog attacked my cat and she died.  That’s all that I want to say about that.

But I want to share a layout I created, based on the challenge at Scrap Our Stash:

Now, before you start thinking – why would you create a layout with you and your cat, based on Thelma and Louise?? … I ask that you please bear with me.

In the movie, apart from wreaking a little havoc, these two friends stuck together, through thick and thin, right until the very end.

Well, that is the relationship I had with my cat.  She came to me in 2005 while I was pregnant, and then I lost that baby.  After that, I lost many more babies, suffered from severe clinical depression, lost my husband and more recently I lost my daddy.  My cat was ALWAYS there for me – through thick and thin.  She literally followed me around and when I was at my lowest of lows and ugliest of ugly, she was right there with me – without fail.  Unfortunately, due to the nature of the attack by my (also very beloved) dog, I was not able to get to her and hold her until she took her final breath… this will haunt me for the rest of my life, as I was not able to be with her like she had been there for me countless times before.

So anyway, here is my layout.  I have included the word friend and in the last image below, you can see where I have tucked my journal card behind the photograph.
