Hey guys,
Our last challenge for January over at The Studio Challenges blog, is a recipe!
Here’s what I worked on:
And my close-ups:
My last entry into a challenge (for the moment!) is one I did for the gorgeous moodboard at Scrapping Clearly.
This is not a palette I’ve worked with before, but that’s not to say that I struggled! On the contrary! I LOVED working on this!! Here’s what I created:
This is my family! Mom and siblings and their kids! My SIL took this photograph on a recent family trip we did – and I have been waiting for the right opportunity to use it!
Here are some close ups:
The next online challenge I am entering is for Challenge YOUrself.
I don’t make New Year’s resolutions – ever. I do, however, create a goal or a desire for that year that I’d like to achieve. I think that doing this is ‘gentler’ than facing an actual resolution! My word for 2019 is “Present”. As in BE present; in my life, my body, my health, with my child and my family and every moment I find myself in (I would like to ‘feel’ all the ‘feels’). Here is the layout I created for this challenge:

Happy Monday to you!
I have a few challenge entries to share with you today. My first one is for Kraft+ Challenges. Here’s what the challenge looks like:
And this is what I created:
I couldn’t resist using this photograph for this challenge. Not only because the t-shirt my mom is wearing matches so perfectly with the indigenous art theme – but also because this was taken on Heritage Day, here in South Africa. I just thought that to be so fitting too!

Hi!
Today I want to share my take on the gorgeous challenge at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration – the second one for 2019. I just loved working with this earthy, natural colour palette.
Here is how I solved this case:
I used asparagus green, soft yellow, grey-blue, white and peanut butter brown. I took inspiration from the image in the form of the leaves / flowers, frames, clock stamp, brush lettering and I added even more texture by using some gauze.
My testimony is based on a January Prompt – namely “Who are you in love with”.
I’ve been so very blessed to be lucky in BIG, DEEP love for the second time. I am so incredibly in love with this man – and I tell him so several times a day. I feel as if I cannot possibly tell him enough! He is so good to and for me – always supporting me and also always keeping me on my toes. We are so alike and I thank my lucky stars that I have him in my world.

Hey,
Today I am sharing my take on the Cold Case at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration. This case is a new concept and I’m very excited about having to do another layout for CSI!
I don’t know where Debbi sources her images, but they never, ever fail to inspire me – this is one of many that I’ve thought would look so beautiful in a frame, hanging up somewhere in my home.
I absolutely love this colour scheme – I’ve used red, teal, navy, pale coral, white and grey. The image made me think of home – I don’t know why or how… it just did. I thought that the girl was knitting a scarf for her home.. I don’t know how I got there, I just know that I did. I wanted the theme of my piece to be about home – hence the title. I used a pointy flower and leaves, scalloped ephemera and floral stamps on my piece; as well as some hearts.

Hi everyone!
Our challenge for January, at Mix It Up Challenge Blog – is Anything Goes + Sentiment as Main Focus.
I created this layout below – all about memories. This is my daughter and my late daddy – taken in 2013 or thereabouts. I love everything about this image and knew that it had to be scrapped at some stage!
We have a special and rather poignant mood board over at Off The Rails this month – it’s all about parents.
For this challenge, I decided to scrap a photo of my dad and I. He’s been gone for almost 10 months, but it’s all still raw and new and sad and heartsore and … well… POOP. Anyway. Here’s the layout I created:
And some close up shots:
We have a few new gorgeous cases to crack at the CSI: Color Stories Inspiration blog – and a whole new feel and approach too! A GREAT way to start 2019 off! Here is the first one (I’ll share my projects for the others, later this month).
Here is how I solved this awesome case:
I used teal (light and dark), cerise pink, white and brown. I used papers that had chevron print, floral print and stripes – this appears as inspiration on the image. I was drawn to the flower borders on the little camper and so I uses flowers and floral border on my layout as well. My title is cursive font, which is just like the little notice board on the image.
I decided to use this photo of my daughter tucking into some watermelon, because I felt that it worked so well with the theme (summer!) and colour scheme of this challenge!
My Testimony is from Paper Wishes – number 90 – which was to write a poem.
Summer is here! It’s time for fun!
Let’s romp and play; enjoy the sun!
Watermelon, swimming, icy drinks and sunscreen
All these elements, they help set the scene
For a fabulous holiday for us to just chill
Memories to make? Oh yes we WILL!
Here are some close up shots!
We have a fabulous sketch for you to end off 2018, over at The Studio Challenges!
I flipped the sketch once, clockwise and put this layout together:
I loved working with this sketch! It was really cool to work with! Here are some close up images of my piece:
