It’s been a while since I’ve played along with the challenges at The Scrap Room. Today I want to share the layout I created for the Color Challenge, based on their beautiful mood board.
Here is my layout:

At More Than Words this month, the challenge is to use the word ‘Always’ and to include a quote on your layout.
Here is the layout I created for this challenge:
If there is one thing that I want to instill in my child – it’s to never judge but rather be empathetic. We are all entitled to a bad day – and it’s not fun when you are judged as being a miserable or morbid sap, while you are actually going through a personal crisis that no one is aware of (it happens ALL the time!) I have many favourite sayings or quotes to this effect, but I just love this one by Mother Teresa. Instead of thinking that someone is grumpy, take a step back and think about what might have caused that person to be unhappy.

Because coral is a firm favourite colour of mine (for the moment!), I am totally besotted with the February Mood Board at Scrapping Clearly!
Here is the layout I put together for this one:
I added in some feminine elements as well – the doilies, floral print and the gauze. Here are some close ups:
At Challenge YOUrself this month, they are hosting a movie themed challenge.
I’m not going to lie… I was somewhat stumped on this one. So I turned to my daughter for help. She immediately suggested ‘Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass’. When I said ‘Oookay…. well… why?’, she responded with ‘Because things are not always as they seem’.
And WHAMMY! The idea burst forth into my head! I’m very grateful to my creative child! Here’s what I did:
I little while ago, we went to an art exhibition that showcased a few walk-in paintings (I forget the term used for these) and out of the entire batch of photo’s I took – this one remains my favourite. Indeed… everything is NOT as it seems with this one!

I was so so happy to have been asked to do a layout as Guest Designer for Sketchy Boards! Here is the challenge for February:
And here is the layout I did:
I kept the sketch as is and then I decided to actually work with the colours that are on the image too. I used pink and teal and earthy tones / paper.

Hey there,
Today I am sharing a challenge that we’re hosting over at The Studio – and it’s a scraplift one!
I decided that I wanted to scraplift this lovely layout, done by my fellow DT member, Denise. The link to the original blog post is here.
Isn’t it a beauty!?
I decided to flip it once, clockwise; and this is what I made:

Hi!
There is a stunner of a cold case file up on the CSI: Color Stories Inspiration blog – head on over to check it out! It’s a great way to dig way back into your stash and use up some of those goodies gathering dust!
Beautiful, right??
I love the ethereal feel of this image; this is what I put together:
I went with earthy browns, tans and creams and then added some green and some red too. As soon as I saw the picture, I knew that I wanted to throw a bunch of flowers at it! I scratched around in my really old goodies and found a bunch of lovely floral ephemera and also two very ornate ‘frames’. I added these to my layout, as well as some foliage chippies to finish the look.
Here are some close-ups.
I’ve long been a fan of pink and green (and white!), so I was pretty happy to work on this case at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration!
Here is what I put together:
I used shades of pink, lime green, grey and white. I was inspired by the flowers, frame and hearts, so added those to my piece. I also wanted to create a ‘mantlepiece’ type of design for my work.
My story comes from the ‘February Writing Prompt’ – “No, I won’t” and “Frozen”.
So… I had noticed over last year, that many people were uploading funny images with add-on’s of sorts. Some I thought were a little crazy or weird or silly. At the time, I vowed that I WON’T ever do it! Cue a new phone with all those funny little add-on’s and you get THIS. A picture of a nay-sayer frozen forevermore in a silly, weird and crazy photo!

We have an awesome sketch up and running for the month of February over at Let’s Get Sketchy! Have a look:
I kept the sketch as is and put something together that was also inspired by the elements in the sketch – namely the stars and the colours. Here’s what I did:
I adore this photo of my two loves! I wish I could remember what they were talking about!?
