I’m so completely over the moon to announce that I made it onto the Scrap The Girls Design Team! I can honestly say that I didn’t think I stood a chance – I mean seriously… have you SEEN how talented my fellow designers are??!?

I couldn’t WAIT to get started on this one – and here is what I put together:

Aside from obviously been completely bowled over and inspired by the colours, I loved the flowers, so I added a few fussy cut and ephemera flowers; I also randomly stamped a few. I wanted my page to ‘sparkle’ so I selected this gorgeous background paper. For added ‘warrior princess’ effect, I popped a crown on my daughters’ head. The story goes:

She started with Grade 3 at the beginning of January and en route to school on her first day, she was nervous and anxious; seeking reassurance that she would be okay and that she’d manage. This could only have stemmed from the fact that we told her that there’s a big jump from Grade 2 to Grade 3. I always want to instill empowerment in her – just because you’re a girl, doesn’t mean you cannot do it! So I told her that she needs to have faith in herself and in her Grade 2 teacher for knowing she was ready to progress to the next grade. I told her at length to believe in herself. I hope that my ‘lecture’ sticks!

Here are some close-ups:

Come play along with us, won’t you? There are two FABULOUS prizes up for grabs!! And you know what ‘they’ say … you’ve got to be in it to win it!
