Today Was So Much Fun | CSI DT

I simply loved working on this month’s Cold Case File at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration! Check it out!

Isn’t it just delightfully colourful!?

Here is what I created:

As you can see, I went WILD with colour! I used most of the colours that are in the image.

My eye was drawn to the row of yellow dots in the image, so I fished out as much colourful spotty dotty paper as I could; I even found some that I forget existed! I found a pretty scallop-dotty sticker to use as well. Sticking to the ‘spacey’ them, I chose a background paper that reminded me a little of the sky at dusk; and then I also added various forms of stars – from my chipboard pieces (thanks to my 2Crafty stash!!) and then some fussy cut stars as well!

October Memories | CSI DT

We have a Halloween themed challenge to end off October, over at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration:

I loved this one! Here’s what I created:

My colours are cream, black, orange, yellow and grey.

I went opposite to the inspiration image – i.e. bright on black (as opposed to black on bright!). I was inspired by the stripes and the circles; and also the scroll work. I love this border chippie from 2Crafty – it made me think a little of those scrolled gates you’d always see at the front of a haunted mansion! I also took inspiration from the crescent mood and used a crescent shaped chippie (also from 2Crafty). I added some doodles spiders, webs and a bat.

My story goes that although we, here in South Africa, really do not celebrate Halloween the way other countries do, we were very excited when our local neighbourhood organised a Trick or Treat sessions for the local kids. It only happened this one year, but I am SO pleased that I finally got to scrap this photograph (which is 3 years old!).

Spunky | CSI DT

I just love everything about our first challenge for October, over at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration – and no doubt, you will too!

Isn’t it so lovely!? Here is the layout I created, inspired by this image:

I just love those floral outlines and cheeky title chippie pieces from 2 Crafty Chipboard!

I used shades of peach to coral; forest green, off white and brown. I matched the flora type theme of the inspiration image and ran with that as the main feel of my layout. I fussy cut some flowers to add some more flower and leaf elements; and then I also added that adorable little fussy cut bird! The theme of my piece is about my spunky little girl; and how much she is changing and growing and how I’m just LOVING this phase more and more each day!

#Totally Best. Day. Ever | Scrap The Girls

So well all know that October is breast cancer awareness month and so in that light, our challenge this month at Scrap The Girls is a selection of bra’s! Choose your star sign and be inspired by your bra!

My bra is Virgo and I decided to use a backing page that had a denim / fabric feel to it; and the majority of the other papers I used are also of a denim colour scheme. I added some red for a pop of colour. The gorgeous chipboard pieces on my layout are all from 2Crafty Chipboard.
