We have a Halloween themed challenge to end off October, over at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration:
I loved this one! Here’s what I created:
My colours are cream, black, orange, yellow and grey.
I went opposite to the inspiration image – i.e. bright on black (as opposed to black on bright!). I was inspired by the stripes and the circles; and also the scroll work. I love this border chippie from 2Crafty – it made me think a little of those scrolled gates you’d always see at the front of a haunted mansion! I also took inspiration from the crescent mood and used a crescent shaped chippie (also from 2Crafty). I added some doodles spiders, webs and a bat.
My story goes that although we, here in South Africa, really do not celebrate Halloween the way other countries do, we were very excited when our local neighbourhood organised a Trick or Treat sessions for the local kids. It only happened this one year, but I am SO pleased that I finally got to scrap this photograph (which is 3 years old!).
