2Crafty Chippies, CSI DT Post

Today | CSI DT

I’m completely in love with the Cold Case File that Debbi has found this month for CSI. From the colours to all the adorable elements – this one was just too much fun to work with!

I was inspired by the almost patchwork effect of the inspiration image, so I applied that to my overall dessign. i used pretty much all the colours of the IW in my layout too. Further, I added some cutesy fussy cut animals, gifts and Christmas themed elements. To add to the patchwork feel, I did a little stitching. The pretty cursive title I chose to use is from 2Crafty Chipboard. Here is what I created.

Cheeky Story | CSI DT

It’s the middle of the month, and that means it’s time for Debbi to release the second reveal over at CSI: Color Stories Inspiration!

No photo description available.

And this is what I created:

I worked with cream / off-white, brown, red, black and green. I was drawn to those gorgeous plain scatter cushions in the image, so I used a few different plaid patterned papers in my layering. I also added some stripes and some text patterns. I added a fussy cut Pointsettia’s to echo the Christmas theme and then I also popped on some snowflake rub-ons. My cursive written title is just like the cursive writing seen in the images; the chipboard title is from 2Crafty Chipboard.

My journaling is about ‘what makes me sweat’.

It’s no secret in our house, that I am completely OCD (I have been compared to Monica, from Friends fame – a fact which I own!). So when it comes down to decorating the house and / or the Christmas tree, I really do start to sweat if I see that it’s not done the way I usually do it (which is the right way, of course!). I have to walk away from the scene of the crime to retain my sanity….

This Makes Me Happy | CSI

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas over at CSI! Pop on over to the blog and take a look at the gorgeous and inspiring images that Debbi has found for us to play with this month!

Here is my take on the first reveal:

No photo description available.

My eye was drawn to the little Christmas Bauble on the wall, directly above the mantle; I knew that I wanted to somehow incorporate it into my layout! I worked with 2 shades of pink, dark teal, minty green and white. I also added some polka dot, striped and wood grain papers in my layering; as well as adding some leaves which had a Christmassy feel.

My journaling is about decorating our home.

We really look forward to decorating our home each year; as soon as we see shops starting to sell and / or decorate with Christmas goodies, we start chomping at the bit. Previously, we had decorated as early as mid-October; but this year, I was determined to ride it out until mid-November. After a whole lot of nudging from my child, I caved and we eventually did all our decorating in the first week of November. Her face in this photograph says it all!

And now for some close ups!
