I have always loved being creative and over many years, I have dabbled in anything arty.  In 2007/8, a friend introduced me to scrapbooking and the rest, as “they” say, is history.

I have a dedicated room where I will sit for hours creating anything from layouts to canvases to off-the-page creations.  I love my art and it’s safe to say that it is, without doubt, my passion. I love how it is an art that never stagnates; there is always a new technique or a new product yet to be discovered.

Being that I’m a stay at home mom, I have all the time in the world to simply get completely lost in whatever it is I am creating for hours on end.

It was a dream of mine, from about 2013, to be on a Design Team; and I’m lucky, blessed, fortunate, awed to now be on not just one – but FIVE!  It’s such an amazing opportunity for me and each one comes with a brand new set of challenges, forcing me out of any comfort zone I might find myself in.

I have the most adorable and precocious daughter, who we adopted in 2010, so the majority of my pieces will be about her.  One day she will have so many albums to pore over!  I lost my husband suddenly in November 2014 and I’m building up many layouts and canvases pertaining to him and his relationship with my daughter; this I do for her to look back on one day.

I’m currently in a relationship again with a beautiful boy, who I’ve known since 1995.  Together he, Isabella and I are slowly but surely building our own new memories too.

So now I go between creating pieces that are all about Isabella to pieces that are just about my late husband to – more recently – pieces that showcase some new memories created.

This is my second scrapping blog – my first one is still up and running and if you’d like to see some of my “older” work, please head on over to http://bluebirdscrapper.blogspot.co.za/
