For this challenge, I was inspired primarily, by the colour scheme of the image in the lower right hand corner. To add to the hippie effect, I added some fussy cut feathers and flowers. I used a gorgeous 2 Crafty Chipboard Dandelion puff to add to my piece and I used one of their little titles too.
Here are a few close ups of this piece.
We would love you to join in on this challenge – remember that we have changed our set up to Facebook submissions!
This month at Off The Rails, we have a vintage inspired mood board for you to join us on! We have also changed over to uploading and sharing directly to the Facebook Group.
For this layout, I was inspired by the colours of the lower two images. Being that it is a vintage inspired challenge this month, I simply HAD to scrap these two images of my grandparents, back in the day!
As soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted to use some long-since-eaten pink foil chocolate wrappers. I also used an old playing card, a paper doily – and that blue bow? That comes from some fabric on a dress my daughter used to wear (and ripped – hence the recycle!).
For this challenge, I decided to scrap a photo of my dad and I. He’s been gone for almost 10 months, but it’s all still raw and new and sad and heartsore and … well… POOP. Anyway. Here’s the layout I created:
Our challenge this month at Off The Rails is a food inspired Mood Board:
I created a layout inspired not only by the food (obviously!), but also by the bright colours of this layout. The photograph is of my daughter peeking through a window cookie we baked – it was our first ever attempt and was a huge success!
Here’s my layout – we do hope you’ll join us for this fun challenge!
This month over at Off The Rails Challenge blog, we have a cold, chilly, icy inspired mood board for you to play along with. Personally, I LOVE it! You are inspired to bring cold into your piece, with this one. And it depicts a quote by an inspiring genius!
It’s pretty difficult for me to bring snow to any of my photographs, as here in South Africa, we are not blessed with snow – well, not REALLY. If you want snow, you’re going to have to travel up high!
This is what I put together. I grabbed onto that icy teal and used it on my background; my base page has a marble print, which helps bring in the cold to my LO! I also added a few vellum snowflakes for good measure. The photograph was taken in the middle of a wintry evening when Isabella and I popped out to watch my boyfriend play touch rugby. To add interest – I added some coral and yellow as well.
Off The Rails Scrapbooking challenge this month, has a fiery ‘mother nature’ aspect to their mood board. Head on over here to see and to play along with us!
This is how I played along with the board. I chose the colours – specifically the oranges and yellows and added a dash of red. I also incorporated paper with a tree design and fussy cut some flowers to bring in the ‘mother nature’ aspect.
